Your Gift Could Help Save a Child’s Life

Since 2010, we’ve raised over $552,000 for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital through our Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital treats thousands of children in our communities each year, regardless of their ability to pay. We’re so passionate about supporting the hospital that over 75% of our staff have enrolled in our Doernbecher Mondays fundraiser, which has garnered over $19,000 already this year!

This October, we invite you to help us support their life-saving services during our Doernbecher Days fundraiser! Here’s how you can help:

1. Buy or donate an adorable plush llama for $10, while supplies last. You can choose to keep the llama, or we’ll donate it to a child at Doernbecher on your behalf!

2. Sponsor a Children’s Miracle Network balloon icon for $1. Add your name or the name of a loved one to show your support, and we’ll post it on the wall. Want to make a BIG impact? Donate $100 or more and we’ll add your name to a jumbo balloon that will show you’re one of our biggest supporters!

3. Drop your change into a donation canister at any financial services center.

4. Ask to make a deposit or transfer to our donation account.

We’re proud to be founding members of the nationwide Credit Unions for Kids network, which unites credit unions in fundraising efforts for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Through this program, credit unions in the Pacific Northwest have raised funds for Doernbecher’s most pressing priorities in clinical care, faculty support, research, and community outreach. Notable projects include:

$3 million to support expansion and improvement projects, including the Tom Sargent Safety Center, 7th floor outpatient clinics, and the pediatric ICU.
$4 million for pediatric research, including neurological research and a cancer clinical trials research endowment.
$5 million to support the construction of the Gary and Christine Rood Family Pavilion, a five-story guest house for patients and their families.
$6 million in endowed professorships, including the endowment for the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.

Last year, we joined other Pacific Northwest credit unions to pledge $5 million to help develop a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room. This facility will merge the pediatric operating room and the cardiac catheterization lab, where heart diagnostics and treatments for young patients are performed. The combination of these services will allow cardiologists to perform complex procedures together in one setting without risky transportation between departments.
