Turning Everyday Compassion into Lasting Community Impact
Our Neighbor2Neighbor Program was born from a simple yet powerful belief: when employees are empowered, they can create meaningful change in the lives of our members and the communities we serve.
It all began years ago, when a thoughtful manager placed a bench outside the retirement community across from her financial services center. The bench offered seniors a place to rest on what was often their only outing of the day—a visit to the credit union. Inspired by her kindness, other leaders quietly stepped up as well, purchasing a scooter for a member recovering from an injury, covering the grocery bill for a family facing hardship, and finding other heartfelt ways to meet needs where they saw them.
These personal acts of compassion sparked something greater—an understanding that, together, we could make an even bigger difference. “People helping people” has always been part of our credit union DNA, and we wanted to ensure every staff member had the opportunity and resources to extend that spirit of care.
In 2021, we launched the Neighbor2Neighbor Program to do just that—equipping our employees with dedicated donation funds to give back with purpose and heart within their communities.
In 2024 alone, 34 of our 36 teams donated $16,688 to causes ranging from local animal shelters and elementary schools to vital resource centers supporting families and individuals in need. Many also came together to sponsor rooms at Beth’s Place in Longview—a new safe and sober shelter for unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness.
These stories aren’t just one-off gestures—they represent who we are at our core. Neighbor2Neighbor has transformed everyday compassion into lasting, local impact. What started as individual moments of kindness has grown into a collective movement of community care. And as we look to the future, we remain deeply committed to cultivating a culture where every employee feels empowered to act, give, and lead with heart—because together, we can keep creating ripples of good that reach far and wide.
